Fear-Busting Strategy: Go Where the Elephants Are
Rather than taking on the fear on its home court – indulging in things that cause it to root – find activities where it is not as present – like Interaction [a local singles group]. Interaction (IA) is so much nicer because the people there are there to interact and be approached. At the mall, you don’t know who’s there for meeting and who’s there for shopping. Lately, I’ve not gotten the hoped-for reactions to my approaches and am probably self-conscious because of that. Perhaps I’d do better to linger at events more directly geared toward meeting people than a mall. Perhaps.
