Tina Can We Meet

Sunday, September 30th, 2001

Dear   [Tina],

Ha ha. Cute. :)

Hey, how would you like to meet sometime? It’d be nice to have a buddy to go health food shopping with — as long as you don’t mind doing the driving. I’d pay you very well for gas.

Later.

Dear   [Tina],

[Tina's into health and fitness as am I.]

Well, I am at a healthy weight, (144) but I’d like to lose, say, 5 to 10 more fat pounds and build up that much in muscle.

I’ll go in for another cholesterol check in about a month. Been successfully holding daily fat intake below 20 g since late-August. I’m very curious as to how this will affect the readings.

Yes, beans are indeed carbohydrates. However, they don’t deserve the bad reputation accorded to other, refined carbos like sugar, syrup, juice, and any other carbohydrate that is compressed, concentrated, stripped, heated excessively, powdered, and so on. In fact, they contain much fiber (which is a very complex carbohydrate), and is also a healthy substance in the body. Studies these days indicate that we need at least 30 g of fiber to keep our digestive tracts healthy, and to stay thin.

Anyway, we’ll have to talk about this more sometime.

Your Card Smells Great

Smells good. And yes, I too feel that we were made for each other. I love you too, VERY MUCH! I dream of the day when we’ll be together.

Lady in Ohio

Tuesday, September 4th, 2001

Dear   [Cassee],

Good morning. Yes, all is very well.

I’ve given up my [...] tech lead position this summer. Now’ I’m back to strictly developing new Java code for our [...] web sites. Lots to learn. But it’s quite enjoyable, and has much less pressure.

I’ve lost 28 pounds since the last time you saw me. Almost down to what I was in high school. And what a youthful feeling that is! :-)

There is a lady in Ohio (named [Vee]), who has promised me the sun and moon if I move back there and take up residence with her. I like her very much, and so was quite moved by her offer.

The only problem is that she is married (albeit unhappily). But married just the same. So, I declined, and told her that we could revisit the issue again, once she’s completely free and clear of past romantic involvements. She’s working on that, but I’m not waiting for her. If it so happens that when she eventually wraps up this marriage, and I’m available, well then, we’ll just see. But Philly would be a tough place to leave. I’ve really started looking at this place as home these days.

Well, back to work with me. Hope all is well with you too.
