Dear [Tina],
[Tina's into health and fitness as am I.]
Well, I am at a healthy weight, (144) but I’d like to lose, say, 5 to 10 more fat pounds and build up that much in muscle.
I’ll go in for another cholesterol check in about a month. Been successfully holding daily fat intake below 20 g since late-August. I’m very curious as to how this will affect the readings.
Yes, beans are indeed carbohydrates. However, they don’t deserve the bad reputation accorded to other, refined carbos like sugar, syrup, juice, and any other carbohydrate that is compressed, concentrated, stripped, heated excessively, powdered, and so on. In fact, they contain much fiber (which is a very complex carbohydrate), and is also a healthy substance in the body. Studies these days indicate that we need at least 30 g of fiber to keep our digestive tracts healthy, and to stay thin.
Anyway, we’ll have to talk about this more sometime.
