Tom's Love Quest

Dear   [Vee],

Thanks for your honesty. A few other ladies have recently told me the same thing [that my glasses can make me look unattractive].

I have tried wearing contacts (once in 1980, and again in 1992). Neither time worked out very well – very uncomfortable, and I never quite got used to them. But, with all the new technologies these days, they may have gotten better. And I have a doctor who seems quite skilled at fitting them. Perhaps I’ll give him a call. He’s about a two-hour drive from here. However, I think my Mom will drive me there.

I know now, that I must get rid of the glasses. They’re probably the biggest single factor about me that turns ladies off. Sometimes I get quite frustrated that society doesn’t accept me as I naturally appear. But I’m just as guilty of those kinds of judgments as anyone else I’m afraid.
