Helping Emmy

[Emmy],

If there’s anything I can do to help you find hotels in Pittsburgh, let me know. I’ve got some time to spare and if you want me to get you a list of what’s out there and where, just tell me.

You write pretty well actually, because you write as you talk. I can almost hear your voice saying the words I’m reading in the email. Neat.

Actually, “calmer” is a word. But it is a noun and refers to something or someone that calms things or people down, who smoothes the waters, and helps dissipate strong emotions in tense situations. Also known as a mediator, a calmer brings two sides together on an issue and helps them calmly come to a consensus.

However, you used the word as an adjective as in “I need to be more calmer.” You could have said, “I need to be more calm.” And that would have been correct. But it doesn’t matter really. I knew what you meant. :-)

Oh, if you want to improve your writing, just read more. The best writers are avid readers.

You’re not boring me at all.

Well, I’m going to get to bed shortly. So it’s time to sign off for now. Talk to you later.
