Still After Kandi
Dear [Kandi],
Hope your trip around China was educational and enjoyable, and that you got lots of pictures.
All is well here. The wedding in Clarion went well on [November] 6th, and I’m writing today some new software to make song retrieval faster and easier on the computer. The foundation of these programs is complete and seems to be working okay.
Listen, about our hanging out together over the holidays, I still want you to come, but thought it would be good to spend time on the phone before the visit. I like you, but must admit that I don’t know you very well. I want to learn more about what you like so I can plan our visit better. How about sending your home phone number (in PA), where I can reach you once you get home from China. Then, once you get home and settled, we can talk.
What I know of you, I like a lot and hope you’ll allow me to know more. I am attracted to you and would like this to be our first date, if you will, where we’re drinking hot chocolate, dining out somewhere nice, taking a walk in the show, holding hands at a movie, and just exploring the romantic possibilities together. But only if you feel the same. I tell you this so that you know that to me, our visit would be more than just two friends staying in touch.
Now don’t worry If you only want friendship. Hey, I understand. It just seemed like the right time to figure that out for certain. And I don’t want you to come if you feel that all we could ever be, is friends. That would make things kind of boring for both of us I’d predict.
Anyway, it looks like they’re not going to have the winter retreat this year. 21 people signed up, but [Mel] needs 25. We offered to raise the money for the other four slots, but she says that they need actual people there, and not just the money. Ah well, it was a good tradition for the past eight years. Perhaps next year, more people will be interested in it.
Well, I must get back to programming. Take care and we’ll talk soon.
