Dear Nazda

Hi [Nazda].

Can you play CDs or cassettes? I could send you a tape or a CD with my voice on it. I used to send taped letters to many of my friends back in the mid 90s.

About our relationship: I like what we have, although the distance between us makes me worry a little, as well as the fact that we come from very different cultures. By no means insurmountable barriers. But they could complicate a future together.

All I can say right now is that I’d enjoy getting to know you better. I don’t want to dream too far ahead at present. And I can make no promises about how I would like the future to unfold. I just want to learn more about this beautiful new Russian friend of mine, named [Nazda]. :) I like seeing how you write English. It’s cute.

Did you find where I live (Altoona, PA) on your map? I’m in the north eastern United States.

I’d love to hear your voice on the phone as well.

I like when you call me Tommy.

The last couple days here have been sunny and clear. The stars are out tonight. I wonder if we both could ever see the moon at the same time, you in Russia, and me in America?

Do you know the music group t.A.T.u.? They did a neat song in 2003 called “Not Gonna Get Us”

How do you say “Not Gonna Get Us” in Russian?

It looks like you’re eight hours ahead of us here in America. So, it’s probably around 8:00 am your time right now. You’re getting ready for work, and I’m getting ready for bed.

Well, gotta go for now. Take care, and write soon.

Tom Hesley
