Dear Tad
Dear [Tad],
[Olga’s] birthday is on Dec. 22nd.
No, I didn’t hear from [Erp] this year either, although I didn’t expect to. We had a tiff at the last party, severe enough to all but guarantee that we won’t talk anymore. Sad. But he embarrassed me in front of several of his guests. He accused me of “milking” the social security system by quitting my job a few years ago and then collecting the benefits. He dismissed my DJ efforts and scoffed at my work on becoming a writer. No encouragement or support from him at all. Vintage [Erp]. He was like that when we lived together in 1979-80, and he’s employed similar antics with [Mentat] through the years. At any rate, when he ridiculed me last year, something just snapped in me. I was so tired of dealing with the same themes with him and was damn sure I didn’t wish to deal with them again. So I came away from the party knowing with 100 percent certainty that I wouldn’t be seeing him again. There’s just too much toxic negative energy in his heart.
More later,
Tom Hesley
